At Shrewsbury Hospital the service is located at the Hamar Centre for Emotional support and Emotional support. At the Princess Royal Hospital, Telford, the service is located at the end of Therapies department. The service is staffed by Macmillan professionals and supported by trained volunteers. The centre supports anyone affected by cancer. It stocks a range information material related to cancer, emotional support using a dedicated quiet room, a directory of local support services, signposting and referral to the most relevant service to meet your needs. It is a safe and confidential environment. If you have a cancer diagnosis, are worried about cancer, or visiting as friend or relative we can provide you with support that spans the cancer journey, including pre-diagnosis, diagnosis and treatments, living with and beyond cancer, palliative and end of life care. We have access to on-site support if you are worried about the financial impact of cancer through the Macmillan Welfare Rights Service, Emotional support on-site for cancer patients only, wig fitted service by appointment and a range of support groups delivered at the Hamar Centre and in the community. If you need someone local to talk too who understands, we can give you the time you need to talk, we listen.
